Halloween gains popularity in UK

Research consumer analysts Mintel estimated that Brits spent a record £310 million on Halloween in 2016 up 5% from 2015. Halloween has become the third biggest ‘event’ for retailers behind Christmas and Easter with 50% of Millennials (16-35 year olds) spending money on Halloween last year. With approximately 200,000 Americans living in the UK and many Brits experiencing American culture via social media, TV and by visiting or living there, it seems only natural British adults and their children would start to devour the holiday.

Date of Halloween UK:

Tuesday 31st October
