Three Uncles Opens Fourth Location with Exclusive Dish and Own Beer
St Paul’s will be fourth opening in as many years for London’s popular Hong Kong style Siu Mei masters, Three Uncles.
The St Paul’s location, opening on November 1st, will be the biggest site yet for the three childhood friends and chefs with the 1000 square feet unit offering 30 covers.
This Central location adds to the the growing group of independently owned takeaway kiosks and restaurant in North (Hawley Wharf Market), South (Brixton Market) and East (Liverpool Street).
“We have had our eye on this site for a long time and have been in and out of negotiations on it for nearly three years so we are happy to have finally secured it. We have chosen a bigger space to offer customers comfortable seating over seats, more space for dining in and a dedicated waiting area for food to be picked up. Our aim is to offer a truly authentic Cantonese option for an informal and quick meal to diners in the St Paul’s area, something we feel was previously hard to find.” says Mo Kwok (Uncle Mo).
To celebrate the opening a limited edition dish of Soya Chicken will be available exclusively to St Paul’s. Also known as See Yao Gai (豉油鸡) Soya Chicken is a quintessential Cantonese favourite that sits (or, perhaps, hangs) alongside the traditional Siu Mei offering.
“The dish is made by braising a whole free-range chicken in high-quality soy sauce lifted with our house-blend of aromatics and spices. The result is pillow-soft chicken with glistening deep-brown skin and luscious sweet-savoury sauce.” says Chong Yew (Uncle Lim).
November 1st will also mark the launch of Three Uncles beer across all sites (St Paul’s pending licence approval), produced in partnership with Belleville Brewing, Battersea. Two beers have been designed to pair with the sweet-savoury-spicy flavour profiles of the Cantonese dishes, the Triple 8 Lager the Three Uncles Session IPA.
An opening offer will run from Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th of November inclusive offering 50% off the entire menu including drinks for both eat-in and takeaway customers.
Three Uncles St Paul’s will serve the same menu as their kiosk format of house-roasted and chopped-to-order Cantonese meats, Lo Mien Noodles and Dim Sum with location-exclusive addition of new classic Cantonese dish Soya Chicken, all for dining in, delivery and takeaway. Drinks include Hong Kong Milk Tea, Hong Kong Ice Lemon Tea as well as the Three Uncles beer.
“We are fortunate enough to be able to open another location to share our passion of Cantonese BBQ and are grateful for all the amazing support from our customers to allow this to happen. For the future of Three Uncles we are planning a slow growth and are committed to maintaining our recipes and quality that have won us so many regular customers over the last four years.” says Pui Sing Tsang (Uncle Sidney).
