Heddon Street’s playful resident Rumours Mayfair will be launching The Gossip Garden on Tuesday 3rd December
The 60-cover heated seating area offers almost complete covering with low awnings and high partitions from the pedestrianised street. With both overhead and spiral heaters, this has to be one of London’s most snug terraces.
For the winter installation of the terrace, Rumours have commissioned bespoke capes for guests to wear, added four hot cocktails to their menu and launching the spectacular sweet sharing treat, The Snow Queen.
The capes designed by Russian designer T Mosca are made from faux fur, feature colourful silk-based lining and are available in pink and silver grey, providing guests with both stylish and warm protection from the London chill.
The four new hot cocktails are ordered by strength with Sergejs Summer Solace being the lightest (Pampero Especial Rum, raspberry, strawberry, mint, lemon, vanilla), followed by Heated Honeypot (Ketel One Vodka, lemon juice, honey, apple juice), Weston Lights (Jack Daniels, agave, lemon juice) and finally the strongest, A Fallen Flower (Amaretto, lemon juice, vanilla, raspberry, blueberry). All priced £13 each.
The spectacular Snow Queen is a sweet treat to share made with glittery curls of white candy floss “hair” atop a queen with a selection of homemade cakes, muffins and cookies creating a sweet necklace around her neck. The Snow Queen is designed for two to four people and priced at £30.
Food is served all day with a new menu created by award-winning Head Chef Daniele Colombo who has recently joined Rumours from Chucs with previous experience as Head Chef at KX Gym and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Highlights from the menu include Truffle Arancini with Parmesan Sauce, Quail’s Eggs with Tonnato, Calamari and Zucchini Fritti and Plant Based Burger with Sweet Potato Chips.
The Gossip Garden is also the perfect space to enjoy shisha with state-of-the-art pipes, over 100 flavours and a variety of liquids from which to fill your shisha to enhance your experience such as Champagne, vodka and even milk for an extra smooth smoke.
Rumours is a colourful and playful restaurant and terrace popular with an international crowd offering a vibrant, fun and mischievous experience in Mayfair.
The glamorous venue is made up of a ground floor dining room that seats 45 decorated in pastel pinks and blues with tall palm trees adding green to the room and jungle vines creeping across the ceiling.
Wrapped around the dining room is The Gossip Garden, almost fully covered and heated, the terrace transforms each season with unique additions designed to entertain and amuse guests.
On the lower floor is a life-size photography set that guests can interact with to create playful photos with a range of props. The bathrooms are equally vibrant with flamingo wallpaper and oversized vanity areas.
Food is served all day with an additional menu for Afternoon Tea and a weekend brunch.
Many menu items demonstrate the cheeky and exuberant nature of Rumours; CDB drinks served in bongs, tongue-in-cheek cocktail names and tiramisu served on dry ice are just some examples of the mischievous dishes.
