Patara London have launched their tropical tennis-themed Thai-Break Terrace for Wimbledon as of today.

Here are five reasons why you visit them during Wimbledon 2018:

Tropical Terrace: Patara have worked with a local florist to transform their terrace into a tropical tennis-themed paradise filling it with Thai orchids and scented tropical flowers and plants.

Tennis-themed outfits: Staff will be dressed in Chong-Kraben (traditional hand-embroidered Thai trousers) paired with the classic tennis white aertex and trainers.

Patara Pimms & Singha beer-buckets: Customers can share tableside Singha beer-buckets or try a Thai take on the classic summer drinks with jugs of Patara Pimms scented with Thai sweet basil, slices of young ginger and an optional hint of chilli.

Outdoor Screening: Patara’s Thai-Break Terrace will screen all Wimbledon matches from 2nd to 15th of July.

Tennis Menu: In addition to the usual menus the neighbourhood Thai restaurant will offer tennis-inspired dishes such as the vibrant Wimbledon Purple Dumplings (handmade dumplings with caramelised chicken, peanut and finished with coconut cream) and The Champions Dessert (mango and passion fruit ‘net’ with green tea macaron ‘racket’, lemongrass and lime sorbet ‘tennis ball’ on roasted rice ‘lawn’) both pictured below.

The terrace launches today Monday 18th June and will be themed until July 29th. Following the same hours of the restaurant the terrace is open all day every day from midday until 10.30pm with later closing of 11pm on Thursday to Saturday.

Patara Food

Contemporary Thai cuisine elegantly presented in a relaxed and stylish environment.

The Chefs

The chefs, all trained in Thailand, have a respect for quality ingredients and seamlessly blend eastern and western techniques to create dishes of character and depth that are not enslaved to tradition, dishes that appeal to a sophisticated European palette.

The Design

The design of the restaurants echoes the food: mixing the classic with the modern. From modish dark wood interiors, a neutral colour palate and brushed stone flooring. These are complemented by traditional Thai motifs, from subtle wall mounted carvings to an impressive miniature temple that forms the centerpiece of the Soho dining room.

The First Patara

The first Patara opened 28 years ago, as a new style of Thai restaurants in London. The focus then and today remains the same: great quality and fine presentation of Thai dishes, both traditional and contemporary. Patara is authentically different fine Thai dining.
