Originally inspired by La Dolça, the much-loved area at Tickets in Barcelona reserved for experiencing desserts, Cakes & Bubbles is Albert Adrià’s first permanent site outside Spain.
The chic marble walled dining room can be entered from within it’s home of the Hotel Café Royal or through it’s own entrance on London’s busy Regent Street. Inside diners are invited to enjoy a parade of exceptional desserts alongside a curated selection of Champagnes and sparkling wines.
Cakes & Bubbles serves a savoury lunch menu between 11am and 3pm daily as well as tasting experiences and an Afternoon Tea.
Albert Adrià has just launched a retail collection of 26 items that has been in development for almost a year since the launch.
“I always had the intention to develop a collection that allows my guests to explore this in their own home based on the premise that excitement is found in two or three bites. I was inspired by exploring the Greek artistic theory of Mimetics to imitate reality and created my own mimetic of the peanut, hazelnut and pistachio. From here I transgressed to establishing the first C&B Chocolate Collection to capture the purity of the essence of a single flavour in each bar. Chocolate Rocks were developed to explore texture while the C&B spreads explore the decadence in the lustrous. Biscuits, éclairs, my ‘After Eight’ and edible postcards complete the collection” says Albert Adrià.
