Chamberlain’s Of London restaurant is unique in that it is owned by fourth generation fishmongers Chamberlain & Thelwell from Billingsgate Market who also supply many of London’s top restaurants.
The restaurant is located in the beautiful Leadenhall Market, a rapidly changing area of the City of London now fully occupied for the first time.
Both the owners and executive chef Andrew Jones have a wealth of information they are happy to share for any fish and seafood features, seasonal advice, how to cook and prepare fish and insight into the UK fishing industry.
Classic dishes include (and pictured above):
Lobster Bisque scented with Armagnac and served with brown shrimp.
Dover Sole from Brixham served on or off the bone, grilled, pan fried or poached in Champagne sauce.
Cornish Skate Wing from Bideford served with brown parsley butter & capers.
History:
Chamberlain’s of London have a rich history as London fishmongers dating back to 1904.
Their restaurant has been serving fish and seafood in the City of London for 16 years.
Location / News:
This summer the restaurant was fully refurbished and includes an outdoor terrace, two floors, a brasserie and a mezzanine with impressive views over Leadenhall Market.
The unique terrace is fully covered by the beautiful and ornate Leadenhall Market roof which has featured in Harry Potter.
A brand new fish and chip shop has been opened serving restaurant quality fish and chips as well as vinegars, condiments and pickles all homemade.
