This year’s Harro Foods Japan Food Show, hosted at the popular annual trade and consumer show HYPERJAPAN, sees the largest shift in health-focused products since the show began in 2010.
Over half the products to be exhibited at the Japan Food Show will provide health benefits or solutions for the wellness-conscious consumer to attract the attention of restaurant buyers attending the trade day on Friday 13th of July.
Unusual and deliciously colourful items of interest include the following:
Kaneku Frozen Yuzu Peel: Made from peel of yuzu grown in the Shikoku and Kyushu regions of Japan. The fruits are picked, chopped, and the peel frozen while still fresh.
Asaichiban Mamenoka: A lighter tasting organic natto made from soybeans that is less stringy so easier to use.
Shibanuma Soy Sauce: Founded in 1668 and matured in wooden barrels for a year.
Pesca Rich Egg Sheet Roll: Sheet of very thin egg omelette, less than a millimetre thick, produced from 100% Grade A British Lion eggs.
Toa Food Tea-flavoured Soba Noodles (pictured): An addition of green tea powder to noodles gives a slightly sweeter, earthier flavour.
Ueman Rice “Panko”: Crispy, crunchy, gluten-free alternative to panko.
Sewha Nori Strips: Fibre-rich nori snacks with added almonds, brown rice, and nuts.
