Facebook announced today that they are going to introduce a new set of privacy controls towards the end of 2012.
We assume this is to address growing concerns over the lack of ease behind controlling your Facebook privacy. However according to Mashable in their article today while doing this Facebook are removing the option for users to hide from public search.
The good news is that these new controls will make it much easier for us to choose who we share with. The Bad news is that we will no longer be able to hide our names from Facebook search. Being sociable ourselves this isn’t something necessary to us but we feel others may have a legitimate reason such as abuse to want to stay hidden and this should have been taken into consideration.
