Chamberlain’s Of London spur drive for the City to become a 7-day destination as they announce weekend openings

Chamberlain’s of London, who have been serving fish and seafood in Leadenhall Market for 16 years, are pleased to announce they are joining the growing movement to make the City of London a 7-day destination by opening on weekends for the very first time.

The news comes on the back of their beautiful location Leadenhall Market becoming fully occupied for the first time in five years (source) and the new openings in the area such as The Ned and Bloomberg Arcade.

Andrew Cross, Assistant Director of City Fund in the Investment Property Group said: “Leadenhall Market’s stunning architecture, history and world class retail, food & drink offer makes it the perfect place to visit any day of the week. It’s fantastic that one of our flagship restaurants, Chamberlain’s, is pioneering weekend opening at the Market. We would like to see other tenants following this and taking advantage of the Square Mile’s growing buoyant weekend economy.”

Now in their fourth generation as a family fishmonger business Chamberlain’s carefully select and supply only the very best fish and seafood direct from boat, to Billingsgate, to kitchen, to plate.

During the weekend diners can order either a la carte or from the Saturday Gourmet Menu or Sunday Brunch menus both priced at two courses for £27 or three for £32. On Sundays there is the option of adding bottomless Prosecco or Bloody Mary to two courses for an additional £20.

Saturday Evening Menu includes:

Starters: Game Terrine (with pear chutney) Radicchio and Dolcelatte Salad (with Port poached pear and caramelised walnuts) and Oyster Tasting (3 varieties).
Mains: Roasted Fillet of Hake (with crushed new potatoes, kale, pickled mushrooms and balsamic) Grilled Half Isle of Harris Lobster (with homemade chorizo and rocket salad) and Roasted Breast of Partridge (with parsnip, black cabbage, walnuts and Madeira jus).
Desserts: Pavlova (with roasted figs and crème Chantilly) and British Cheese of the Week (with homemade chutney and breads).

On Sundays the Brunch Menu includes:

Starters: Scottish Lobster Omelette (glazed with lobster bisque), Steak Tartare (with confit egg yolk) and Eggs Benedict or Royale.
Mains: Newlyn Cornish Plaice (with samphire and seaweed butter), Full English (with eggs as you like them) and Slow Roast Longhorn Beef (with all the trimmings and gravy).
