We are delighted to announce the Battersea branch of Vietnamese favourite Mien Tay are celebrating their sixth birthday this November with six new dishes.

In the past six years Vietnamese food has skyrocketed in popularity and as the first ever Vietnamese restaurant to feature in The Evening Standard, Metro and Time Out London Mien Tay can certainly hold claim to widening interest to their country’s cuisine. Mien Tay have served approximately a quarter of a million customers since opening, have received certifications from Parliament, hosted dignitaries, is a popular “night off” spot for local chefs, industry figureheads, food writers and celebrities and it’s unusual not to see a queue snaking down Lavender Hill from this humble and honest family-run restaurant.

Over the past six years patrons to Mien Tay Battersea have contributed to charity causes in Vietnam because a large proportion of their profits are channelled directly into their native country. Co-owner (and wife of Mr Su Tran) Mrs My Le has led assistance to children in poverty providing clothing, toys and school equipment, in poor villages they have built roads, bridges and financed maintenance to increase accessibility and they have also given direct financial aid to those suffering extreme conditions.

Since opening late last year Mien Tay Battersea has gathered a respectable following and received fantastic reviews, with AA Gill saying his Pho “was heaven – worth going to Battersea for all on its own…the best value for anything cooked in all of Britain and among other compliments “Mien Tay may well be the best Vietnamese restaurant in London”.

Building on their delicious food, Mien Tay has joined forces with Willie Lebus of Bibendum to create The Mien Tay Wine List, a food pairing wine list. Willie has selected a stress-free list of just 14 wines, fizz and sherry, from various artisanal estates including some that grow their grapes organically or bio-dynamically.

The wines on the list come from all over the world and have been specifically paired to the dishes served in the restaurant to compliment both the food and wine.

The compact selection is chosen purely on quality not price and with Mien Tay’s low mark-up policy this makes the wines incredible value for money. As with the ethos of the food pricing Mien Tay may offer the best value wine list in London.

All wines are served in elegant 125ml glasses, 250ml carafes and by the bottle.
